Hijra Celebration & March Past
Marking the Islamic New Year with awareness, unity, and a grand march past that brings together Muslim organisations across the nation.
About the Event
What is the Hijra Celebration?
Every year, NACOMYO EGBA Division organises a grand Hijra Celebration to mark the Islamic New Year (1st Muharram). The event draws participation from organisations across Ogun State and beyond.
The celebration features an Hijra Calendar Awareness programme β educating communities on the significance of the Islamic lunar calendar β and culminates in a spectacular March Past through the streets of Abeokuta, featuring contingents from affiliated Islamic organisations.
Muslim leaders, scholars, dignitaries, and philanthropists from across Nigeria are formally invited to witness and participate. Winners of the March Past competition receive prestigious prizes and recognition.
